Franlin S. Galmbos

I recently acquired this rare collectible and am selling it for Christmas cash. I have been trying fervently to find out more information on the piece, and have been speaking with an art dealer in St. Louis. I still don't know the title, but am working on it.

This is a very rare etching from Galambos, and from what I understand it is one of his favorites.

Franklin GalambosFranklin

Galambos was born in 1944 in Norristown, PA. After serving in the US Army, he began civilian life with a commerical printing firm in Philidelphia, before becoming a fulltime artist in 1972 in King of Prussia, PA. In search of greater space, he moved to the Oley Valley PA in 1978, and moved again in 1985.Franklin's work is rendered onto copper etching plates in painstaking detail, in a fine ranges of grays and black. His images convey a sense that time has briefly stopped, and as many of his subjects have fallen prey to the developers bulldozer, has described his legacy as "a record of our disappearing landscape".Franklin's work has been shown in many exhibitions across the United States over the last 30 years, and can also be found in a number of major galleries.
